Updates and some thoughts
I got 2 games with my Admech under my belt so far and i think i should write a sentence or two on all the units on how i used them and how i could improve on the usefulness since i have 11 units i need to know all their strengths and weaknesses.
1st HQ!
Tech priest dominus! i havent had him do much since when the enemy comes within 24" they are already dead ;) nah JK only got to shoot his weapon a couple of times and that was against traitor guard so i cant really comment on his damage output, What he does bring me is the ability to automatically identify a objective so i always have an extra unit of skyfireing goodness, and making the knight being able to skyfire is pretty sweet! (just need to remember that he cant shoot his battle cannon on stuff since he will snap shot at stuff on the ground)
There is some disputes on the internet about the The Scryerskull Perspicatus that it doesn't remove the other scryerskull, meaning he can identify 2 objectives. thats pretty sweet! and to doom a vehicle is super good as well!
2 the Troops!
The Vanguards are really cool! shooting 3 s3 shots per guy sounds weak but on a six its two wounds! and they can help other thinks in combat, like my infiltrators, removing toughness is pretty sweet!
The relic i have used for these guys are "The Skull of Elder Nikola" thats xD6" haywire to all armor. the x is replaced by the turn number. thinking of giving the skull to my infiltrator squad instead since they see more action. Really liking them using 2 plasmas as well
The rangers on the other hand im not so sure about.
I was lucky to get two precision shots removing a powerfist last game but that wont ever happen again ^^ although range 30 is pretty sweet! i might try to play them a bit more aggressive next time since they are relentless (if i'm not mistaken
The relic ive used for this unit is Arkhan's Divinator, so it would make sense for them to grab objectives.
Kataphron Destroyers: speaks for themselves, they go the lords work, i stick them in a ruin and if there is an objective there i use my dominus to make it so its 1+ to cover for a unit :) pretty sweet! 18 grav shots is the Lords work! i use flamers on them as well.
3 Elites!
Rust stalkers! they have a razor and a claw! the alpha has the Omniscient Mask so the unit has zealot and its really really good! i wish the Infiltrators could have it as well but i must choose one unit to have it.
The alpha also has the haywire attacks if they would come up against some heavy armor.
Infiltrators! Damn you glue!! damn you to the warp!
I glued on power weapons since i did some research what the top players use in their lists and most of them had power weapons.. Taser goads are so much better!! i have "mark of dave" on my unit so it might look like power weapons but they are goads i promise! poping +3 strength and having them be s9 is sooooo good! they will remove any vehicle they touch, even knights!!
i need to dig up the goads from the sprews and put them on asap
The relic i have tried on this group was the poison ap2 pistol, but i will change it for the special Goad that forces a I test or removed from play :)
4 Heavy support!
The Ironstriders has failed me both games, but im not ready to give up on them yet, since the games i played hadn't any flyers or much armor to speak of i need some more testing before i put them in their case again.
i really wish i would've made 2 ironstriders and 1 dragoon or vice versa.
The Dunecrawler. On the first game it atleast took its points back making the maulerfiend immobilized in the overwatch, but without any flyers he was pretty useless, second game he got to shoot at the hell drake, although the knight was the one taking that down.
I know when i will face lots of skimmers and FMC etc he will do work, he just had some bad matchups. Solid unit!
Kastelan Robots.
These are a hard nut to crack, not sure on how to use them yet, they have been standing in my deployment zone just shooting and not really doing much, from brain farts i have always forgotten their protocol to use their shoulder mounted weapons twice.. That is a lot of decent firepower! 12s6 ap3 and 6 s6 twin linked Luminogen shots.
and the obius relic to use here is the one that makes them change protocols instantly.
5 LORD OF WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR
Thoughts i got just now from writing this down (this was a pretty good exercise) was to be more aggressive with some units and change the relics on others.
Got some more paint on the void shield, need to paint the servitors that are mounted on the base of the void shield, and the electric ball things on top and on the center piece. All that is left after that is some glue :) i would like it in to pieces since it's rather cumbersome to transport it when it's this high. But the amount of flack i will get for fielding it might make it something i use in battles at my own little Bunker. At least it's a really cool piece of terrain, and not something you see very often.

The Knight Crusader!! with battle cannon and meltagun plus the rockets on his head (cant remember the name but its the 3 s8 ap3 shots) he really does work! kinda speaks for himself!

Aww man, I've already glued my power swords on!!! But I play mostly against space marines, so I may want to keep it that way.
